Location & Getting Here

Chalet Tissières is based in one of the many villages and hamlets stretched out along the Chamonix valley commune called 'Les Bossons' (1012m). This hamlet boasts Europe's longest glacier (the Bossons Glacier). The 1924 winter Olympics ski jump event was held at the foot of this glacier, just a 3 minute stroll up the road from the chalet.

Being located on the north-eastern side of the valley makes it all the more accessible as this is the side you enter the valley when coming from Geneva airport. It takes les than 5 minutes to get you to the hustle and bustle of Chamonix town centre which is only 3 km away. There is a public bus stop only 100 meters away where you can catch a bus at regular times to any of the valley's ski stations. However, as part of our winter holiday package every morning we drop you off at your desired ski station and pick you up at the end of the day. We have 2 restaurants at walking distance. The nearest bar is a 15 minute walk along the river.

By Air

By Road

Chamonix is only 15 km away from Italy by the Mont Blanc tunnel, and 16 km from Switzerland by the Col des Montets. The Autoroute Blanche heads all the way to Chamonix, making the journey by road very easy and fast. We recommend www.viamichelin.com to map out your route for you. Directions to the Chalet from Geneva

After the Passy services (about 20 km from Chamonix) follow the dual carriageway towards Chamonix. You will go over the viaduct and through two tunnels. You will pass signs for ‘Les Houches’. You continue on the motorway. You will then see a large sign for the Mercure hotel on the right and you take the first exit off the motorway after this sign (signposted ‘Les Bossons’). Be careful it is a small slip road and easy to miss! Turn right at the T-junction and you will pass about 3 campsites on your right. Opposite the 3rd campsite (Camping Des Verneys) you can see our large wooden sign showing photos of ‘Chalet Tissieres’. Turn into this drive and our chalet is the large white chalet at the end of this drive.
